            I am directed by Gen Lee to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 1st inst concerning the transfer of Private King of Capt: Wood’s comp’ny of the 37th Va Reg’t to Co: “E” of the 50th Va reg’t; to say that the same had been referred to the comdg officers of the first named compny & regiment for their approval, & that when this is obtained, it will afford him much pleasure to comply with your wishes and order the desired transfer.
