Lieut General J. Longstreet, Major General J. B. Gordon, and Brigr: General W. N. Pendleton are hereby designated to carry into effect the stipulations this day entered into between Lieut General U. S. Grant, Comm’d’g the Armies of the United States and General R. E. Lee, Commdg the Armies of the Confederate States, in which Genl: Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia.
