An original letter from Major R. Delafield, Supt Mil: Academy, of the 1 Nov 1844, & marked 2917, referred to the Secy of War on the 8 Nov 1844, has not been returned to this office. It is ascertained that it has got among some court martial papers in your office.
I have therefore to request, that you will return it to this office, in order that I may restore it to the proper files
