Dear Sir Dumfries 28th december 1791
You[1] are competent to determine for yourself whether you had better remain at Princeton or return to Virginia. You have my consent to do either as you please, but I hope you will not stay in Philadelphia and dissipate your time there if you should think proper to leave college but that you will come on to Alexandria. I do not know how to send you twenty dollars and as you have lately received more than £100 I cannot suppose it ought to be much wanted.
I am affectionately, your obed svt,
Charles Lee
