Ravensworth – 20th April 1881
Burke’s Station P.O. Fairfax Co Va
Genl Marcus J. [Wright]1
Washington D. C.
Dr Genl:
Yours with enclosures was received during my absence from home – was hence the cause of my delay in replying.
I have filled up the blanks from memory as all my official papers were burned in campaign of ’65.
I was elected col of the 9th Va cavalry on the reorganization of the army of N. Va, which I think. took place in March, but you, doubtless, have the date before you.
I think the other dates are correct, or sufficiently so, for all purposes.
I will endeavour to obtain for you a photograph taken during the days of the Confederacy, which is the are I presume your desire.
I will retain the other papers enclosed, until I can consult some member of my staff.
I remain
Your’s very respectfully
W. H F Lee
