Dear Colo Taylor:

Thanks for your note of yesterday. There was need of hurry.

In a correspondence with Genl Longstreet – he said that he had not heard of such an order, and that Pickett’s Division, had previously been turned over to him.

What little I can know about the incidences of the war, I remember quite distinctly, and no one more clearly than this one.
