Stratford March 15th 1806
Mr. Fitzhugh returned here an hour ago from Rosegill,1 and contrary to my expectation will set out early in the morning for the upper Country—all the family are in bed, and being indisposed, I must quickly follow them, which leaves me but a few moments to devote to my dear Mrs. Lee.
Your last letter my dear friend I am truly grateful for—I have long ardently wished to see you, judge then with how much pleasure I contemplate your intended visit. Your request that I will inform you of my plans for the Summer, but I will reserve the communication, for an evenings conversation in the old Saloon: when I shall endeavor, so to arrange them, as to spend as much time in your society as possible. In the interim my beloved friend, you must exert yourself to conquer every difficulty which may arise to oppose our meeting, and continuing together for some time—Adieu my dear friend, and always remember how much you are valued by your
