Dear Sir,
The last post brought to hand your letter of the 20th Sepr. The property which you have rented out I consider or will rented & therefore approve your conduct.
I have in my possession surveys of all the tracts in Westmoreland & Northumberland except the Black grounds which was never surveyed & a small tract called Free Jacks out of there tracts Mrs. Newton has not received her Dower In lieu of which however Mr. Newton has annually had one third part of the rents. In a late letter to you addressed to Westmoreland I advised you to have the Black grounds surveyed as soon as possible. I informed you that I meant to be in Westmoreland at the end of their month I would bring with me the surveys & Sundry other papers explanatory of the affairs of the estate. As I was anxious to make a final Settlement thereof. Having this intention I deem it unnecessary to send the Surveys to Peter’sburg. If any accident should prevent my going to Westmoreland I will include them to Mr. Forbes at Kinsale.
Relative to Mrs. Jones legacy, you labour under a mistake and you will find, that my account on that subject is accurately noted & interest duly allowed. But this is on explanation which will be only made when we meet by an inspection of the account.
