My precious Markie
I cannot let Custis depart without carrying a few lines to you, to assure you of my love & fond recollection. I feel much satisfaction in your being with our dear father, & know that he will want for nothing that true affection & delicate kindness Can procure him. I am very glad to hear that you are so well again & hope you will Continue to enjoy what is so necessary to our Comfort & usefulness in this world. May the good God that watches over us all long Continue it to you. Remember me very kindly to Cousins Brit. Washn Jane, Lum & Kate. I hope Lolo1 is with you. I know how happy it will make you. Remember me to orton when you write. I hope he is pleased with his school & is studying hard.
Very truly & affy your Cousin
