My darling Mother
Your letter written from Richmond enclosing one from Milly. The bundle & letter for Charlotte has also been received per Gen Stuart.
I’m very sorry to hear that you have been suffering so from Rheumatism. I was in hopes that you had gotten over that complaint entirely. I expect this bad weather & some exposure on your part has given you this attack.
We are going to move our Camp Tuesday if the weather permits.
We will be about 25 miles from here & about 8 or 10 miles from the River. I do’nt [sic] Know yet what the Gen is going to do with Sister for he will be two [sic] far off to visit her. I think she has greatly improved since she has gotten here & seems to be in fine spirits all ways. Mrs Hunter & family are very nice & kind so are all the people around here. It’s getting so dark that I can scarcely see, so you must excuse the brevity of this note. Remember me to All my friends & relations & believe me your aff
son

I fear this storm may hinder the mail but will send my letter if I do not hear from you tomorrow your fond mother
