The Lee Family Digital Archive is the largest online source for primary source materials concerning the Lee family of Virginia. It contains published and unpublished items, some well known to historians, others that are rare or have never before been put online. We are always looking for new letters, diaries, and books to add to our website. Do you have a rare item that you would like to donate or share with us? If so, please contact our curator, Colin Woodward, about how you can contribute to this historic project.

Col.

Your letter of the 10th recd. this evg. I think well of the enterprize you propose. I am only doubtful how far your infy could keep pace with the cavy. At this time there is no danger from the East. Get all information & be guided by events. Rosser has halted at Gordonsville awaiting for the present the development of Kilpatrick’s movements. As already advised I desire you to rejoin your brigade at the Commencement of active operations & hope you will be able to have completed by that time the business that has occupied you during the winter.

Very respy your obtservt
