My precious little Agnes

I recd your kind note last night. I am obliged to go to the right to day & will be compelled to visit Richmond the first moment I can. I do not know when I shall See you. You must therefore make your arrangements to return irrespective of me. Thank Mrs Meade & Mrs P__ for their kindness to you in my name, for I fear I shall not be able. Bryan will do for you anything you desire. Let me know what I can do. Truly & affy your father
