My dear Genl

The Dr’s think it would be well for Genl Lee to have some beef tea at once & as I cannot get it at market before night I send  1 d less a small piece of it can be found at the institute lean & juicy if possible a lb would answer for the present as I can get some more tonight

In great haste yrs MC Lee

Please have the two letters delivered one to Miss Laird[?] to the Maurys
