My dear Mr. Valentine
Whenever I am in doubt about Gen R. E. Lee Rob always says Mr Valentine “can clear it up.” There was an Exhibit in Alexandria Va last Wednesday a death mask of Gen R. E. Lee did not look like him in any way awful & never should have been on Exhibit Rob & I both think alike. We never heard of one being taken. Can you tell if one was taken & by whom I am sorry to trouble you but I must know and know of no one but you who could give me the correct information
With love for Kate and kind regards
Sincerely M. T. Lee1
Mrs W H F Lee
