<br /> Lee Letter: g046

Washington and Lee University

Sender: Robert E. Lee
Recipient: Jefferson Davis

To His Excely Prest. Davis

I desire Genl Rodes to command D. H. Hill’s old Division. He is a good soldier behaved admirably in the last battles and deserves promotion. Genl Johnson will command Trimbles Division. Genl Trimble is still disabled and I fear will not be able to take the field.

R. E. Lee Genl
