<br /> Lee Letter: g094

Washington and Lee University

Sender: Robert E. Lee
Recipient: Jefferson Davis

To Presdt. Davis

Supplies can be sent by Petersburg or Danville to Lynchburg and thence by the Orange and Alex. Roads. We have three days supply and if more can be had I trust all will go well. I earnestly urge that all cavalry and infantry that can be spared be immediately drawn from S.C. to defend Richmond and communications & that the Reserves & militia be at once called out for the purpose of guarding bridges & roads to this army.
