My dear Sir

The Faculty had hoped to have rec – d before this the map of Augusta County completed & ready for the engravers. They are anxious that the commencement of the publication of the County maps should not be longer delayed, & would be glad to know when they may expect the map of Augusta. They know that you have had many difficulties to contend with & have doubtless met with unavoidable delays. They also think that you may have misconceived the purpose of the Committee & may be trying to do more that it is practicable to accomplish at present. When you were last present at the meeting of the Board, it was determined to prepare the Augusta map from the surveys at your command with such additions & corrections as could be make in a rapid reconnaissance & examination. It was thought unwise to spend time on minute details of topography. Please let me know if any thing can be done to expedite the publication of the map & when we may expect to receive it – Very resp – y

R E Lee
