Washington and Lee University

Sender: Robert E. Lee
Recipient: Z. H. Whiteman

Abstract: Written in Lexington to Mr. Z. H. Whiteman concurring in his decision to withdraw his son for the College. The lad had not been able to apply his mind to the course of his studies. His longer continuance will not be advantageous to him. Conduct is satisfactory but expenses appear to be excessive.
