I enclose a letter from Genl Rodes in answer to my request to Cause an examination to be made for your horse. It is gratifying to read what he says of Eugene [Webster].

I wrote to Genl Ewell also, but he said he Could hear nothing of him. I do not Know that I shall be able to see you to day.
